Association of Bridal Consultants (Singapore)
[Wedding Business Weekend #2]

This week, I had the opportunity to meet Johnathan Goh, owner and wedding planner from Wedding Acts.  Even though we have been in the wedding industry for many years, we have not meet each other on a one to one basis.

Johnathan was sharing with me about the background of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), the objective and purpose, the courses offered, conferences held yearly, and the membership programme & benefits. What is really good news to me, is that he has been appointed to form the Singapore chapter, Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), Singapore.

I applaud Johnathan for being able to spearhead the ABC Singapore. I told him that I would support him and hope to see the Singapore wedding industry meets a certain standard, professionalism and excellence. This would also be a great platform for future networking sessions with other wedding planners and wedding vendors in the industry.

Note: the next networking session LINK-UP! will be on 8 Sep.

Business Reads & Resources
[Wedding Business Weekend #1]

As a boutique company, I may not have the time and resources to attend all business workshops, seminars or networking sessions. However, the worldwide web has not stopped me from obtaining information and gaining knowledge from the business professionals.

To keep me updated with the wedding industry business trends, marketing concepts and ideas, PR communications and strategy, and social media updates, I have been diligently reading and following these wedding professionals.

I enjoy reading every bit of their updates as these are valuable insights that keeps me motivated and inspired as an entreprenuer and wedding specialist.

Note: Wedding Business Weekend (#WBW for twitter) will be brought to you every two weeks.

My Wishlist: To meet at least one or all of these business professionals in the near future.

“I Do… For Less” – Article from WSJ

I found an interesting post this morning when I was reading The Weddex Blog.

Rebecca Grinnals posted an article from Wall Street Journal “I Do… For Less – As the economy shrinks, so do wedding budgets”. This whole article is meant for the US market but it is so relevant, even to Asia, with today’s economic climate.

Heaven Blessed Real Love Works @ Marina Barrage

Last night, my husband and I got to witness the biggest ever couples reaffirming their love and commitment at Marina Barrage.

Thanks heaven, the rain stopped in time for the event and start pouring again towards the end of the lucky draws segment. A thousand balloons were released into the sky as a symbol of couples soaring love.  Couples also express their love by posting it on love notes, which has set a new Singapore record for the largest heart formed made with a collection of love notes.

Congratulations to the two couples who won Wedding & Romance Pre-Wedding Experience and Just Us Packages.
